Throat cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the throat region of the human body. Additionally, the throat region is a part of the digestive system. Oropharynx cancer occurs in the middle part of the throat, i.e. oropharynx. Diagnosis of this type of cancer in the early stage is curable. Sore throats, swallowing issues, etc, are a few examples of throat cancer symptoms.

Hypopharynx cancer occurs at the bottom part of the throat. This condition advances when tobacco and alcohol are consumed heavily. Ear pain and sore throat are a few examples of the symptoms of this type of condition.

Therefore, change in the voice, cough that is consistent and never goes away, ear pain, lump in the neck or throat region, paining throat while swallowing, etc are a few examples of the symptoms of hypopharynx cancer.

There are various diagnostic tests and treatments to cure throat cancer. Some of them are-

Ct scans– CT scans are also the chain of X-rays of a human body to examine certain conditions. The other name for a CT scan is computed tomography scan. Here, images of the inside of the body are taken from different angles.

MRIs (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) – This is a diagnostic test that helps to examine the anatomy and the physiological processes of a human body. Examinations are carried out via magnetic fields and radio waves.

Endoscopy tests-Help to view the parts inside of the body.

Biopsy– It helps to minutely examine a tissue sample from a body after extracting it from the body.

These are some of the diagnostic tests. And radiation therapies, chemotherapies, surgeries, and immunotherapy, are some of the treatments for this condition.

What are the throat cancer symptoms?

There are many difficulties in breathing, blood in the cough, sore throat, throat pain, and change in voice. Also, difficulty swallowing food items, lumps in the neck or throat region, and a cough that never goes are some of the few symptoms of throat cancer.
